Unglued Devotional

About The Book:  This companion devotional to the bestselling book Unglued provides encouragement to help readers handle emotional struggles. Including a daily opening Scripture, Thought for the Day, devotion, and closing prayer, this book helps readers begin a 60-day journey in learning to positively process raw emotions, such as fear, anger, and regret.  Lysa TerKeurst, like most women, has experiences when others irritate, disappoint, criticize, or do other things that bump into her happy.  We come emotionally unglued as we stuff, explode, or react somewhere in between.  Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us?  Read the book and find out.

About The Author:  Lysa Terkeurst is a New York Times bestselling author and national speaker who helps everyday women live an adventure of faith.  She is the president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, author of 15 books, and encourages more than 600,000 women worldwide through a daily online devotional.  Her remarkable life story captured audiences across America when she appeared on Oprah and Good Morning America.  She lives in North Carolina with her husband, five children, three dogs, and a mouse that refuses to leave her kitchen.

My Thoughts On The Book:  The purpose of this book is to provide encouragement for readers dealing with emotional struggles, like fear, anger, and regret. It fulfills its purpose well.  This 60-day devotional is well organized and includes:  A daily opening Scripture, a Thought for the Day, a devotion, and a closing prayer.  My personal favorite was from Day 31 - Attitude of Gratitude.  The Thought for the Day is, "If this is the worst thing that happens to me today, it's still a pretty good day."  "Remember who you are" is another favorite.  The author, Lysa Terkeurst really digs deep into the heart of the matter in these devotions. Each devotion is extremely honest and shows how improvement does not necessarily mean perfection. I liked getting to know that "imperfect progress" is still progress. It was also very powerful in showing the reader that we must accept that reliance on God each day is a must, trusting in God is the only way to get a handle on their raw emotions and move forward in their day with a better/positive outlook.  There were so many nuggets of inspiration in the book.  It would make a great gift and a great book to delve into each day.
